- 2large eggs
- 300mlsugar(~1¼ cups)
- 1½ tspvanilla essence
- dashsalt
- 150mlflour(~⅝ cup)
- 100gmargarine(~½ cup)
- 4 Tbspcocoa
Method

Grease a small round cake tin and dust with flour.

Melt butter and preheat oven to 180°C.
- 03
Whisk eggs and sugar until light and fluffy, then add vanilla essence.

Sieve together salt, flour, and cocoa, then fold into sugar-egg mixture.

Add margarine and stir well.

Bake at 175–180°C for 35 min or longer (cake should be soft at centre).

Can add mixed ground spices such as nutmeg, cinnamon, etc.
