Ingredients
- 60 mlcocoa(~¼ cup)
- 125 mlboiling water(~½ cup)
- 3eggs
- 200 mlsugar(~⅞ cup)
- 60 mloil(~¼ cup)
- 250 mlcake flour(~1 cup)
- 10 mlbaking powder
- 2 mlsalt
Method

Make the cocoa mixture: mix cocoa and boiling water together, allow to cool.

Add the cocoa mixture.

Add water, beating as you go.

Beat together well.

Add to the mixture.

Pour into 2 greased pans.

Bake at 180°C for 30 minutes.

Syrup: combine 250 ml sugar, 250 ml water and 2 teaspoons coffee powder.

Pour over the cake as soon as it comes out of the oven.
Notes
The syrup is poured over the hot cake immediately out of the oven. 2 teaspoons of coffee powder give the syrup a mocha flavour.
