Ingredients

  • 2 Tbspyeast
  • ½ cuplukewarm waterFor activating yeast
  • 2 cupshot water
  • 3 Tbspsugar
  • 2½ tspsalt
  • ⅓ cupoil
  • 6½ cupsflourCan replace 2 cups flour with oat bran

Method

    Dissolve yeast in ½ cup lukewarm water and leave for 10 minutes.

    In a separate bowl mix: 3 cups flour, hot water, sugar, salt and oil.

    Add yeast mixture and mix.

  4. 04

    Add remaining flour 1 cup at a time, mixing after each addition.

  5. 05

    Once all flour is incorporated, let dough rest for 10 minutes.

    Break dough into 3 oblong pieces.

  7. 07

    Roll each piece like rolling up a towel.

  8. 08

    Grease/line baking pan and place rolls.

  9. 09

    Let dough rise for 30–40 minutes in a warm place.

  10. 10

    Bake at 180°C for 18–22 minutes.


Notes

Flour substitution: replace 2 cups flour with oat bran for added texture and fibre.
